The
Magnum Mag Base is designed to be a super fast and
versatile layout aid at an even 12 x 1 inches long
including a variable slope/pitch "Jack Screw System."
It features five neodymium rare-earth magnets for
a superior magnetic ratio, is laser engraved with
a 12 inch @ 1/8 Imperial scale (U.S.) and will uniquely
accommodate the 880 Square series when attached.
The patented Jack Screw System allows one to project
any intermittent slope or grade with the laser by
simple thumb wheel adjustment - or use the same
seven piece Slope Pin Set for exact projections
of slope/grade as the Stubby base. Centering notches
at each end, fully machined and anodized finish
also compliment the Magnum series. Great care in
the small unseen components such as spring washers
and solid brass parts make the feel and the function
the professional's choice.
THE SLOPE PINS attach under
either end of the base as indicated on the base
sides and are held in place by the neodymium magnets
centered on the flat side. They give exact slopes
or grades with no calculation depending on your
choice of slope pin size. For example, simply place
a 1/4” slope pin at the front or rear location of
the Stubby or Magnum base, and the 8-80 will project
an exact 1/4” per foot rise or fall depending on
the location of the pin (+ or -). Slope Pins are
sold either individually or in sets of seven pieces,
and come in 1/16” increments (starting with 1/8”
slope). Again, each will work with all new Mag Bases
and the 3D DMS series.
